Overview
The Partnership Analyst role focuses on country-level partnership development, demand analysis, and volunteer mobilization to advance UNV's mandate and integrate volunteer solutions into programme delivery.
Key Responsibilities
- Proactively develop and sustain partnerships with UN agencies, government institutions, civil society, and others to identify collaboration opportunities.
- Analyze UN Sustainable Development Cooperation Framework, Country Programme Documents, and sectoral strategies to identify integration points for UNV volunteer solutions.
- Analyze partner demand and contribute to the development and execution of country-level volunteer mobilization strategies.
- Identify and assess opportunities for the deployment of onsite and online Volunteers across development, humanitarian, and peace portfolios.
- Promote volunteerism at the field level through outreach activities, awareness campaigns, and partner engagement.
- Articulate and present UNV’s value proposition and volunteer modalities to partners.
- Support national talent attraction and pipeline management.
- Develop and maintain country-level business intelligence on UN partner mandates, programme pipelines, and emerging priorities.
- Monitor mobilization trends, track key performance indicators, and use corporate tools to support planning, forecasting, and strategic decision making.
- Contribute to adapting regional volunteer mobilization priorities into country-specific recommendations.
- Contribute to the identification of thematic volunteer solutions, pilot initiatives, and joint approaches.
- Coordinate with the Field Security Officer and host entities to ensure UN Volunteers are informed of and compliant with security policies.
- Ensure timely and compliant medical evacuation support for UN Volunteers.
- Ensure the well-being and performance of serving UN Volunteers through regular contact, field visits, and engagement with supervisors.
- Provide timely support to UN Volunteers throughout their journey.
- Develop and manage the implementation of the Field Unit’s annual work plan and set performance indicators.
- Facilitate the effective functioning of the UNV country presence.
- Manage any UNV assigned personnel within the FU, including supervision, performance assessment, and capacity development.
Required Experience
Minimum of 2 years (with master’s degree) or 4 years (with bachelor’s degree) in partnerships, development cooperation, international relations, research, programme analysis, preferably in a humanitarian, development and/or peace related field; Experience in partnerships, inter-agency collaboration, or stakeholder engagement is required. Experience conducting analytical work such as partner mapping, business intelligence, demand analysis, preparation of briefs, concept notes, or knowledge products. Proficiency in the use of standard office software and digital collaboration tools. Openness to embrace Digital Transformation and use of new technologies. Experience working directly with the United Nations system, UNDP, UNV, or other international organizations is an asset. Previous experience in volunteer management, promotion of volunteerism, or engagement with civil society organizations is a distinctive advantage. Experience supporting partnership development is a strong advantage.
Qualifications
Advanced university degree (master's degree or equivalent) in partnership, social sciences, international development, project management, public/business administration or related fields is required, or A first-level university degree (bachelor’s degree) in combination with two additional years of qualifying experience will be given due consideration in lieu of the advanced university degree.
