Overview

The internship provides support in programme implementation and operations within the UNODC Programme Office in Tajikistan. The intern will assist with organizing meetings, developing communication materials, data collection, and operational tasks.


Key Responsibilities
  • Provide support to the organization of meetings, events and conferences, side events to strengthen strategic engagement with UN system partners.
  • General support in processing, drafting and finalizing training materials
  • Provide assistance in social media campaigns.
  • Support to develop communication materials based on good practices, impact example and achievements.
  • Assist in data collection of science, technology and innovation practices.
  • Conduct web research and provide analysis on science, technology and innovation and sustainable development issues.
  • Adding data to the databases
  • Provide support in operations, including finance, procurement, HR, general administration
  • Assist with archiving: prepare procurement materials for archiving, register the archived files, up-date the register of archived file
Required Experience

Applicants to the UN Internship Programme are not required to have professional work experience. However, a field of study that is closely related to the type of internship that you are applying for is required.

Qualifications

Pursuing graduate degree in law, international relations, management, business administration, finance, social sciences or other relevant academic disciplines. Applicants must meet one of the following requirements: (a) be enrolled in, or have recently completed, a graduate school programme (second university degree or equivalent, or higher); (b) be enrolled in, or have recently completed, the final academic year of a first university degree programme (minimum bachelor’s degree or equivalent). - Be computer literate in standard software applications; - Have a demonstrated keen interest in the work of the United Nations and have a personal commitment to the ideals of the Charter; and - Have a demonstrated ability to successfully interact with individuals of different cultural backgrounds and beliefs, which include willingness to try and understand and be tolerant of differing opinions and views. Applicants must be a student in the final year of the first university degree (bachelor or equivalent), Master’s or Ph.D. Programme or equivalent, or have recently completed a Bachelor’s, Master’s or PH.D. Programme.

Fluency in spoken and written English and Russian is required for the internship.
Languages Preferred
Knowledge of Tajik is desirable. Knowledge of an additional official UN language is an advantage.
