Overview
The Information Management Specialist will support DRC Nigeria’s programs by developing and managing information management systems for data collection, storage, analysis, and reporting. The role ensures information management systems are efficient, effective, and aligned with operational goals, making data accessible and accurate for decision-making.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead the design, development, and implementation of information management systems.
- Maintain and update information systems, including databases and dashboards.
- Standardize information management processes across projects and sectors.
- Develop tools, templates, and guidelines for data collection, entry, and management.
- Provide technical support on information management processes and systems.
- Facilitate the collection, storage, and management of program and sectoral data.
- Design and implement data analysis frameworks.
- Develop data visualizations, dashboards, and reporting tools.
- Collaborate with program teams to analyze and interpret data.
- Ensure the integration of GIS into data collection processes.
- Train and build the capacity of staff on information management tools, systems, and processes.
- Provide technical support to Area Office staff and partners.
- Support the MEAL team in developing and delivering training on data analysis and reporting.
- Ensure data protection and confidentiality are maintained.
- Develop and implement data quality assurance processes.
- Review and audit data collection processes.
- Coordinate with program teams, MEAL, and IT departments.
- Coordinate with external partners for data sharing and reporting.
- Collaborate with the MEAL team to support wider MEAL objectives.
- Assist in documenting lessons learned, best practices, and case studies.
- Assess partner capacities in IM systems.
- Lead the development of IM-related training plans and organize capacity strengthening for partners.
- Support partners with tools and systems for compliance.
Required Experience
- Minimum of 5 years’ experience in information management, database design or database administration, and/or information management with development projects implemented by national/international NGOs/UN.
- Experience with GIS mapping and other spatial analysis tools is an advantage.
Qualifications
- University degree in computer science or programming, information management, information technologies, or other relevant area. Masters preferred.
- Certificate in programming languages desirable
