Overview

This internship supports the implementation and coordination of programme activities, assisting with document drafting, communication, and event organization.


Key Responsibilities
  • Support programme implementation and coordination.
  • Assist in drafting, editing, and reviewing official correspondence, reports, briefing notes, presentations, and meeting minutes.
  • Contribute to programme communication and visibility efforts.
  • Support coordination and communication with national counterparts and partners.
  • Assist in the organization of meetings, workshops, training activities, and field missions.
  • Provide administrative and operational support.
  • Perform other assigned duties.
Required Experience

Applicants to the UN Internship Programme are not required to have professional work experience. However, a field of study that is closely related to the type of internship that you are applying for is required.

Qualifications
  • Be enrolled in, or have recently completed, a graduate school programme (second university degree or equivalent, or higher).
  • OR be enrolled in, or have recently completed, the final academic year of a first university degree programme (minimum bachelor’s degree or equivalent) in international policing, criminology, criminal justice, security studies, international relations, law enforcement studies, or a related field.
  • Be computer literate in standard software applications.

Languages Required
Fluency in spoken and written English is required for the internship.
Languages Preferred
Fluent in spoken and written in the Lao language is desirable. Knowledge of additional languages is an asset.

Remuneration
The internship is UNPAID and interns work five days per week (full time - 40 hours). Costs and arrangements for travel, visas, accommodation and living expenses are the responsibility of interns or their sponsoring institutions.
