Overview

The intern will assist in the coordination and delivery of activities to support trade and investment facilitation reforms in developing countries. The role involves research, project implementation, and communication material development.


Key Responsibilities
  • Assist in coordination and delivery of activities, including events, missions, or conferences to support the implementation of trade and investment facilitation reforms in developing countries, including the WTO Trade Facilitation Agreement (TFA) and the WTO Agreement on Investment Facilitation for Development (IFD Agreement).
  • Assist in conducting basic research on selected aspects of trade law, trade facilitation, investment facilitation, and trade policy, and monitor relevant developments to provide regular updates.
  • Contribute to the implementation of trade and investment facilitation projects and related technical assistance activities.
  • Contribute to the development of concept notes, technical papers, reports, and PowerPoint presentations on trade- and investment-related topics.
  • Contribute to the organization of workshops, training sessions, coaching activities, and regional events.
  • Assist in the preparation and dissemination of corporate communication materials, including social media content, web stories, newsletters, success stories, and other visibility products in line with ITC communication guidelines.
  • Assist in mapping and monitoring outreach activities and contribute to the preparation and delivery of outreach initiatives and high-level events of interest to the team.
Qualifications
  • Applicants to the programme shall, at the time of application, meet one of the following requirements: a) Be enrolled in a graduate school programme (second university degree or equivalent, or higher); or b) Be enrolled in the final academic year of a first university degree programme (minimum bachelor’s level or equivalent); c) Have graduated with a university degree (as defined in a or b above) and, if selected, shall commence the internship within one year of graduation. Relevant field of studies: law, international trade, business. SKILLS
  • Knowledge of international trade and/or investment issues
  • Ability to write clearly and concisely is essential
  • Ability to work with efficiency, competence and integrity and in harmony with people from different backgrounds is essential

Advanced knowledge of English is required
Languages Preferred
Knowledge of any other UN language is an advantage

Remuneration
Interns are not financially remunerated by the United Nations. Costs and arrangements for travel, visas, accommodation and living expenses are the responsibility of interns or their sponsoring institutions.
