Overview

The Project National Coordinator will be responsible for the day-to-day coordination and delivery of the Making Trade Happen (MTH) project in Jordan, supporting Jordanian businesses in strengthening export competitiveness and improving market linkages.


Key Responsibilities
  • Circulation and dissemination of the call for SME applications
  • Finalization of the SME selection process
  • Engagement and coordination meetings with key institutions
  • Organization and delivery of an orientation workshop for selected companies
  • Monthly presentation on updates
  • Engagement with partners to advance trade policy initiatives
  • Delivery of coaching sessions for the Training of Trainers (ToT) program
  • Documentation and follow-up of awareness sessions
  • Implementation of activities aimed at enhancing SME competitiveness and market linkages
  • Submission of a quarterly progress report
  • Delivery of activities at institutional and SME levels
  • Completion of activities outlined in the project activity plan
  • Submission of an annual progress report
  • Collection and submission of means of verification
  • Participation in ITC field missions
  • Act as the primary liaison with key national institutions
  • Organize and facilitate bilateral stakeholder meetings
  • Coordinate with institutions involved in trade-in-services data and regulatory reform
  • Support organization of validation workshops, public-private dialogues, and technical trainings
  • Maintain a stakeholder engagement log
  • Disseminate the call for applications and related promotional materials
  • Actively mobilize SMEs to apply
  • Verify and complete SME baseline data
  • Oversee the shortlisting of a targeted number of SMEs
  • Segment selected SMEs into differentiated support tracks
  • Organize and facilitate orientation sessions for selected SMEs
  • Monitor and coordinate the delivery of technical assistance to SMEs
  • Liaise with ITC trainers and coaches
  • Follow up with SMEs and BSOs to track progress
  • Maintain a tracking matrix of SME-level results and improvements
  • Recommend qualified local experts for specific assignments
  • Coordinate all logistical arrangements for trainings, workshops, coaching and events
  • Support the shortlisting of SMEs for participation in trade fairs and documentation of outcomes
  • Support the development and regular updating of the national workplan
  • Ensure sequencing of activities across workstreams
  • Attend weekly coordination calls with ITC
  • Submit a weekly action plan
Required Experience

Minimum of 5 years of progressively responsible experience in project coordination, SME support, or donor-funded programmes in Jordan. Proven experience in working with government entities, chambers, and private sector associations. Strong familiarity with SME advisory services, public-private dialogue, or export development projects. Experience in coordinating training, workshops, and technical missions.

Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree in economics, business administration, trade, development, international relations, or a related field. Master’s degree is an asset.

Remuneration
Fees are subject to the national income taxes, where applicable. If the contract is to be issued in a currency other than USD, the UN exchange rate on the date of the contract issuance will be applicable.
