Overview

Support activities related to Life Cycle Thinking and Sustainable Consumption and Production within the Life Cycle Initiative unit.


Key Responsibilities
  • Support mainstreaming of life cycle thinking in high impact sectors.
  • Assist with research, data collection and analysis on life cycle thinking.
  • Assist with research and coordination for outreach to partners and members.
  • Provide day-to-day support for project-related activities.
  • Contribute towards communications activities, including social media and website updates.
  • Assist with logistical preparation of meetings, events, and webinars.
  • Assist with cross-unit collaboration opportunities.
  • Perform additional tasks as requested.
Required Experience

Applicants to the UN Internship Programme are not required to have professional work experience. However, a field of study that is closely related to the type of internship that you are applying for is required.

Qualifications

Applicants must meet one of the following requirements: (a) be enrolled in, or have completed, a graduate school programme (second university degree or equivalent, or higher); (b) be enrolled in, or have completed, the final academic year of a first university degree programme (minimum bachelor’s degree or equivalent); or (c) have graduated with a university degree and, if selected, must commence the internship within a one year period of graduation from an academic programme. Academic background at least at Bachelor’s level or equivalent, in the area of environmental science, political science, social science, international studies, public administration, economics, engineering, earth sciences or in a related field.

Remuneration
Interns are not financially remunerated by the United Nations. Costs and arrangements for travel, visas, accommodation and living expenses are the responsibility of interns or their sponsoring institutions.
