Overview

The Programme Finance and Administrative Assistant will maintain project financial records, process documentation for financial clearances and payments, and provide administrative and financial support to project staff and consultants.


Key Responsibilities
  • Maintain project financial records and monitoring systems.
  • Check, review, process and prepare all documentation, including contracts.
  • Prepare correspondence to verify data, address queries and follow-up.
  • Review and request additional information on financial reports of project implementing partners.
  • Classify and assign budget codes, verify and process claims for payment.
  • Provide administrative and financial backstopping support and guidance.
  • Consult with Finance Unit and project team on rules, regulations and procedures.
  • Prepare recurring reports and assist in preparing special reports.
  • Calculate and compile cost estimates and participate in budget analysis and forecasts.
  • Perform other relevant duties as assigned.
Required Experience

At least five years of progressively responsible technical, financial and administrative work, and some training in administrative field.

Qualifications

Completion of secondary school education.

Other Details
Languages Required
Excellent command of English and an official national language of the duty station.
Languages Preferred
Formal training in accounting and/or finance and administrative field would be an asset. Familiarity with UN/ILO administrative and financial procedures constitutes as advantage.
