Overview

The Resources Mobilization and Partnership Specialist will lead office resource mobilization efforts, ensure quality of funding proposals and donor reporting, and contribute to external communication materials to optimize resource mobilization capacity.


Key Responsibilities
  • Mobilize resources to achieve funding targets for the UNFPA Afghanistan Appeal and Country Programme.
  • Lead analysis of resource mobilization opportunities for UNFPA’s humanitarian response in Afghanistan.
  • Develop and implement a donor intelligence strategy.
  • Develop specific donor fund-raising strategies and approaches.
  • Lead the development of high-quality proposals, concept notes, and other pitching documents.
  • Maintain a tracking system of donor funds for timely use and reporting.
  • Prepare high-quality donor reports in a timely manner, responding to donor requirements.
  • Coordinate donor updates and organize donor briefings.
  • Liaise with donors, the UNFPA Regional Office, and HQ for coordinated communications.
  • Prepare comprehensive, analytical, and substantive briefs and reports on progress and gaps.
  • Contribute to communications materials for visibility of donor-funded activities.
  • Conduct resource mobilization and partnerships training for Country Office staff.
  • Strengthen staff capacity in resource mobilization procedures, guidelines, and funding modalities.
  • Provide guidance on the implementation of donor funds to ensure compliance.
Required Experience

At least 5 years of increasingly responsible professional experience in resource mobilization and partnerships, or other relevant fields are required. Background in planning, reporting and resource mobilization, knowledge of the UN System and in particular UNFPA policies and procedures preferable. Track record of preparing high quality donor proposals and reports is required. Strong analytical ability and experience in representing an organization is required. Excellent interpersonal and negotiation skills are necessary. Good knowledge of humanitarian response, prior experience in challenging and complex humanitarian response is desirable.

Qualifications

Advanced university degree in international development studies, social sciences and/or business administration, public administration or other related fields.
