Overview
Policy Officer role within the Directorate-General for Communications, Networks, Content and Technology (DG CONNECT) focusing on the implementation of the European Chips Act and related policies.
Key Responsibilities
- handle intensive exchanges with Member States’ relevant authorities and private sector stakeholders (industry) in the preparation of policy proposals and their implementation;
- strengthen the team’s capabilities in areas such as semiconductor technologies, AI, quantum technologies, competition , and/or trade policy;
- handle exchanges and conduct joint work with other relevant Commission services on policy related to semiconductors, and the preparation and follow- up of relevant initiatives;
- carry out market analyses;
- draft policy notes and participate in the drafting of documents.
Required Experience
Background in engineering, economics and/or policy development; a very good understanding of the semiconductor industry and market; a good insight in geopolitical factors and economic security ; and a good grasp of technology trends. Extensive knowledge of European R&D&I instruments and programmes would be welcomed. Experience in standardisation is an asset.
Qualifications
Have a level of education which corresponds to completed university studies of at least three years attested by a diploma.
