Overview
The incumbent supports operational and appeal budget processes, financial reporting, accounting, treasury management, and budget monitoring activities, ensuring compliance with IFRC financial policies and procedures.
Key Responsibilities
- Advise project staff on the interpretation of financial procedures and policies.
- Monitor donor reports list to ensure timely submission.
- Verify that transactions are processed according to IFRS and IFRC policies.
- Provide technical support and advice to project managers during budget preparation and revision.
- Analyze actual expenditures vs. budgets and provide recommendations.
- Validate that all transactions are authorized and documented.
- Manage monthly cash request submissions.
- Prepare periodic cash flows and bank account reconciliations.
- Review accounting transactions weekly for accuracy and completeness.
- Coordinate month-end closing routines.
- Prepare ad-hoc financial analysis and interpret financial indicators.
Required Experience
At least three years of professional experience in a finance or accounting department. Experience in plan and budget, financial analysis and statements, reporting and treasury management, external financial audit. Experience working in a multicultural environment.
Qualifications
Relevant university degree in accounting or finance-related area. Professional qualification in accounting (Chartered accountant, CPA or equivalent) - Preferred.
