Overview
The Grant Acquisition Specialist will be responsible for acquiring grants from various donors and leading the development of project proposals. The role contributes to the execution of grant acquisition strategy, partnership development, donor relations, and knowledge sharing in grant acquisition management.
Key Responsibilities
- Support the development, review, revision, and update of grant acquisition management strategies.
- Gather market intelligence and develop donor and partner mapping.
- Coordinate strategic engagement plans for donors, WV SOs, and partner organizations.
- Support market studies and organizational readiness assessments.
- Explore and monitor funding opportunities from grants, service contracts, and innovative financing.
- Analyze project concepts for alignment with funding opportunities.
- Facilitate blocked-party screening and due diligence for new donors and partners.
- Prepare funding opportunity synopses and Go / No-Go analyses.
- Coordinate waiver or exemption requests.
- Facilitate consortium-building and pre-teaming/teaming agreements.
- Facilitate procurement of external technical consultants or grant writers.
- Identify potential match-fund sources.
- Facilitate the development of quality concept notes or full proposals, including setting up taskforces, developing schedules, compliance matrixes, templates, and facilitating design workshops.
- Review completeness and quality of application documents, ensuring timely submission and coordinating revisions.
- Review award implementation agreement drafts, negotiate adjustments, and seek approval.
- Review partnership agreement drafts, negotiate adjustments, and seek approval.
- Facilitate project start-up workshops.
- Share key takeaways from field visits, capacity building activities, and strategic events.
- Share lessons learned from unsuccessful applications.
- Ensure proper documentation of pre-award and award stages.
- Ensure a smooth handover of awards to the Program Department.
- Document key takeaways from field visits and strategic events.
- Regularly update internal knowledge management platforms and contact databases.
- Complete all mandatory organizational compliance trainings and requirements.
- Coordinate and monitor the implementation of strategic engagement plans.
- Represent WVIDN in strategic events.
- Serve as the primary point of contact for communication with donors, WV SOs, and partner organizations regarding funding opportunities and applications.
- Develop and manage annual performance agreements.
- Submit periodical / monthly accomplishment reports.
- Build and maintain a positive spirit of working in a team.
- Provide Christian value and support.
- Be a role model and inspiration in managing work, communication, and relationships.
- Manage all implementations and risks related to Grant Acquisition Specialist according to organizational policies, guidelines, and standards.
Required Experience
2-3 years of working experience in grant acquisition management or business development.
Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree from International Relations, Social Sciences, Business Administration, or any other relevant fields.
