The Education Project Officer is responsible for the implementation of education activities at refugee/IDPs sites and for host communities in the Somali Region, supporting the day-to-day implementation of education Workstreams/CCs.
Experience in implementing education activities at refugee/IDPs sites and for host communities. Experience in coordinating education activities according to strategy, proposals, budgets and plans. Experience in ensuring adherence to policies and donor requirements. Experience in involving and informing communities and community leaders about activities. Experience in breaking down annual operational plans into weekly, monthly and quarterly implementation plans. Experience in coordinating with monitoring agencies like RRS, UNHCR, relevant local authorities and partners. Experience in ensuring timely procurement, development and distribution of materials and equipment. Experience in training and developing teams. Experience in preparing periodic progress reports and other documents. Experience in investigating and facilitating introduction of new technology, methods and approaches. Experience in establishing and supporting Centre Management Committee. Experience in designing community mobilization mechanisms, selection/enrollment of project participants and maintaining regular attendance. Experience in working with local community structures including youth Association. Experience in supporting registration and training of youth in market relevant vocational skills development. Experience in liaising with Centre Management Committee (CMC). Experience in collecting and compiling monthly reports from skills trainers. Experience in following up and supporting youth (Adolescent girls) to complete skill training/development and access transitional economic empowerment opportunities. Experience in working with youth groups to form Self-Help Group (SHG), attend business skills and access start up cash/kits for employment opportunities. Experience in providing mentoring support to youth. Experience in supervising and directly monitoring education programme implementation. Experience in liaison with relevant authorities District education office/TVET colleges and labor and skill département, communities and community representatives at field level. Experience in updating learners’ and skills trainers’ database and its proper documentation. Experience in working closely with labor and skill office identifying training needs of Skills trainers and facilitating training delivery. Experience in working with local authorities, identifying barriers to skill training and economic empowerment activities and creating conducive environment for youth. Experience in organizing and conducting training and monthly workshops and necessary in-service training. Experience in supervision and monitoring of skills trainers. Experience in identifying and coordinating education /training centers’ logistic needs.
