Overview
The Education in Emergencies Specialist provides technical support to Plan International’s education response and programming in a specific crisis. The role aims to strengthen the capacity of front-line teams and partners responding to emergencies.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead and support rapid Education Needs Assessments and Multi-Sector Needs Assessments (MSNAs) to identify urgent education needs.
- Identify and engage potential local and national partners.
- Ensure the effective planning, implementation, coordination, monitoring, and evaluation of Plan's integrated education response.
- Deliver high-quality education programming that addresses the education and wellbeing needs of children, adolescents, and youth.
- Support colleagues to represent Plan at relevant EiE coordination mechanisms and platforms.
- Coordinate and/or contribute to the Education Cluster response plans and advocacy and alignment with National Education plans and policies.
Required Experience
- Significant experience of working in a variety of different humanitarian crises and contexts.
- Experience of implementing first line education response, safe inclusive quality education programmes.
- Experience of integration with other sectors including child protection, CVA, food security and nutrition.
- Proven track record securing funding from public and private funding streams.
- Experience managing EiE portfolios.
- Strong team management experience resulting in high performing teamwork.
- Commitment to ensuring safeguarding and Prevention of Sexual Harassment, Exploitation and Abuse is core to ways of working.
- Strong problem solving skills.
Qualifications
HEAT or other equivalent security training in the past 3 years.
