Overview

This internship involves performing research, assisting in coordination of activities, supporting database management, and undertaking administrative duties within the Department of Political and Peacebuilding Affairs.


Key Responsibilities
  • Research, compile and summarize background materials for use in preparation of meetings, reports, summaries, etc.;
  • Assists in the coordination of service-wide activities, special projects and events;
  • Supports the management and development of internal databases; updates the website; generates a variety of standard and non-standard statistical and other reports from various databases;
  • Assists in the preparation of presentation materials using appropriate technology/software;
  • Performs a variety of administrative duties, as requested.
  • Perform other functions, as requested.
Qualifications

Applicants must meet one of the following requirements: (a) be enrolled in, or have completed, a graduate school programme (second university degree or equivalent, or higher); (b) be enrolled in, or have completed, the final academic year of a first university degree programme (minimum bachelor’s degree or equivalent).

Languages Required
Fluency in spoken and written English is required for the internship.
Languages Preferred
Knowledge of an additional UN language is an asset.

6 months

Remuneration
Interns are not financially remunerated by the United Nations. Costs and arrangements for travel, visas, accommodation and living expenses are the responsibility of interns or their sponsoring institutions.
