Overview

Consultant to develop national norms and standards for maternal care, updating existing guidelines to align with current evidence and national needs.


Key Responsibilities
  • Conduct benchmarking and gap analysis of existing maternal care norms and standards.
  • Compare existing norms and standards against international best practices and review local guidelines.
  • Draft national maternal care norms for field and institutional settings.
  • Draft tiered standards for antenatal, intranatal, and postnatal care protocols.
  • Design an implementation plan, including activities, timelines, and resource requirements.
  • Develop communication and dissemination strategies.
  • Design a clinical algorithm compendium for frontline staff.
  • Develop a monitoring and evaluation framework, including key performance indicators and a results framework.
Required Experience
  • At least 10 years of work experience.
  • Strong understanding of the maternal healthcare system in Sri Lanka.
  • Deep understanding of the continuum of care concept, specifically the link between community-based and hospital based maternal health services.
