Overview
The Programme Associate provides specialized programme and administrative support to facilitate the development, implementation and monitoring of UNICEF's programmes, specifically supporting the STEP programme. The role involves data analysis, budget tracking, reporting, supply management, and coordination with internal and external stakeholders.
Key Responsibilities
- Support timely programme delivery and results-based reporting.
- Liaise regularly with multiple units (Programme, Operations, Finance, Supply) and external partners.
- Support sector-specific teams or cross-cutting portfolios.
- Facilitate the development, implementation and monitoring of UNICEF's programmes.
- Engage in data analysis, budget tracking, reporting, supply management and coordination.
- Exercise judgment, anticipate needs, and recommend actions.
- Support project management and implementing partnership coordination.
- Manage data, perform analysis and reporting.
- Support grant management, budget monitoring and reporting.
- Contribute to digital innovation and operational efficiency.
- Facilitate communication, knowledge sharing and dissemination.
- Support capacity building and event coordination.
- Provide flexibility and surge support.
Required Experience
- At least 6 years of relevant work experience in Administration, financial accounting, grant financial management, financial reporting and analysis, clerical work and any other related fields is required.
- Previous experience with STEP and/or GPE project experience, and UNICEF financial and other systems such as SAP is considered an asset.
- Relevant experience in a UN agency or organization is considered an asset.
- Relevant experience at country level, particularly in development, fragile settings and humanitarian contexts.
Qualifications
Completion of Secondary Education is required. Professional and/or university courses in finance and accounting and any other related fields are highly desirable.
