Overview

The Community-Based Protection Associate works directly with communities to identify risks and leverage their capacities for protection. The role supports the application of community-based protection standards and involves significant fieldwork to build and maintain community networks.


Key Responsibilities
  • Oversee day-to-day management of CFM desks.
  • Support CFM frontline team.
  • Ensure accurate recording, tracking, and analysis of feedback and complaints.
  • Promote safe, accessible, and confidential feedback channels.
  • Conduct monthly verification of AAP activity data.
  • Provide weekly updates on CAIPP.
  • Provide continuous coaching, mentoring, and technical capacity-building support to CFM staff.
  • Serve as the CBP camp focal point.
  • Regularly update and maintain the Help website.
  • Compile, analyze, and produce community consultation reports.
  • Contribute to the translation and review of CwC messages.
  • Organize and facilitate the monthly CFM partner coordination meeting.
  • Contribute to the preparation of the quarterly CFM snapshot report.
  • Perform other related duties as required.
Required Experience

2 years of experience in the field of humanitarian/ refugee context. Previous experience with a UN agency is a plus. Demonstrated up-to-date knowledge of the UNHCR’s policies and operational guidance on CBP, AGD and AAP. Experience of working with Complaints and Feedback mechanisms in a camp setting. Demonstrated ability and experience working collaboratively across units and teams. Experience in providing training. Experience working in inter-agency/multi-stakeholder humanitarian/refugee contexts.

Qualifications

Graduate Degree in International Development, Cultural Studies, Human Rights, International Social Work, Social Science, Political Science, Anthropology, International Law or other relevant fields. Certificates and Licenses: Development, Human Rights, International Law, International Social Work, Social Science, Political Science.
