Overview

The Project Associate provides administrative, financial, and operational support for project execution, ensuring compliance with UNDP guidelines. The role focuses on managing financial transactions, supporting procurement, and facilitating budget tracking and reporting.


Key Responsibilities
  • Support effective project planning and implementation.
  • Manage logistics, travel arrangements, and hiring project staff.
  • Encourage understanding and promotion of gender equality.
  • Carry out procurement in accordance with UNDP rules and procedures.
  • Prepare financial and administrative documents for project implementation.
  • Prepare quarterly and annual budget plans.
  • Assist project personnel with financial costs and payments.
  • Prepare detailed cost estimates and participate in budget analysis.
  • Process and update records of intangible assets.
  • Execute duties of a cashier and manage project-based cash flow.
  • Analyze administrative and financial issues and ensure resource availability.
  • Identify measures to optimize project resource use.
  • Ensure compliance of administrative and financial processes with UNDP requirements.
  • Support knowledge building, sharing, and capacity building.
  • Participate in training and organize briefings.
  • Provide support in disseminating data and lessons learned.
  • Compile and systematize project knowledge, products, and tools.
  • Monitor vacations of project employees and check report cards.
  • Collect, analyze, and present information for monitoring and evaluation.
  • Assist in organizing field visits, missions, workshops, and conferences.
Required Experience

Minimum of 7 years (with a high school diploma) or 4 years (with a bachelor’s degree) relevant work experience, preferably in project administration, is required. Experience in financial management, administration, or accounting, preferably within an international organization or development project setting, is required. Prior experience managing budgets, handling procurement processes, and ensuring compliance with financial policies is desired. Experience liaising with government agencies, donors, and partners is desired. Demonstrated experience in the use of information and communication technology as a tool and resource is desired. Experience in handling web-based management systems is an asset.

Qualifications

Secondary education is required. A university degree in Finance, Economics, Business Administration, Environment, or similar areas will be given due consideration, but it is not a requirement.
