Overview
The Project Associate will provide administrative, financial, and operational support for a project focused on empowering women entrepreneurs in Uzbekistan. The role aims to ensure the effective and efficient execution of project activities.
Key Responsibilities
- Managing day-to-day financial transactions
- Supporting project procurement
- Assisting in financial reporting
- Ensuring compliance with UNDP's operational and financial guidelines
- Facilitating budget tracking and administrative coordination
- Managing logistics, travel arrangements, and hiring project staff
- Preparing financial and administrative documents
- Budgeting of costs and obligations
- Preparing quarterly and annual budget plans
- Maintaining the monitoring system for recording expenses, balances, payments, and other data
- Assisting project personnel, experts, and consultants with financial and administrative costs
- Preparing detailed cost estimates and participating in budget analysis and forecasting
- Processing and updating the list and keeping records of intangible assets
- Executing duties of a cashier and managing project-based cash flow
- Analyzing potential administrative and financial issues
- Identifying measures to optimize the use of project resources
- Ensuring compliance of administrative and financial processes and reporting with UNDP requirements
- Supporting knowledge building, sharing, and capacity building
- Participating in training and organizing briefings
- Providing support to other capacity building activities
- Supporting the dissemination and sharing of relevant data and lessons learned
- Compiling and systematizing project knowledge, products, and tools
- Monitoring vacations of project employees and checking monthly report cards
- Collecting, analyzing, and presenting information for monitoring and evaluation
- Assisting in the organization of field and study visits, missions, workshops, roundtables, and conferences
Required Experience
Minimum of 7 years (with a high school diploma) or 4 years (with a bachelor’s degree) relevant work experience, preferably in project administration, is required. Experience in financial management, administration, or accounting, preferably within an international organization or development project setting, is required. Prior experience managing budgets, handling procurement processes, and ensuring compliance with financial policies is desired. Experience liaising with government agencies, donors, and partners. Demonstrated experience in the use of information and communication technology as a tool and resource is desired. Experience in handling web-based management systems is an asset.
Qualifications
Secondary education is required. Or A university degree in Finance, Economics, Business Administration, Environment, or similar areas will be given due consideration, but it is not a requirement.
