Overview

The Associate Operations Officer - Sustainable Infrastructure Advisory role focuses on delivering sustainability-related services to clients in the mining and infrastructure sectors, aiming to improve their capacity in addressing sustainability challenges and foster local economic development.


Key Responsibilities
  • Support client engagement and business development in Guinea and across Africa.
  • Contribute to risk and opportunity assessments for sustainability issues.
  • Design innovative solutions and develop proposals for client support.
  • Prepare project legal agreements.
  • Contribute to strategy development for sectors, countries, or regions.
  • Manage the delivery of client projects, including concept notes, work plans, budgets, and reports.
  • Facilitate the provision of sustainability expertise to clients.
  • Participate in the selection, recruitment, and management of service providers.
  • Provide quality assurance and ensure compliance with project agreements.
  • Participate in field missions to assess the quality of work delivered by partners.
  • Engage with World Bank Group staff to develop and implement solutions.
  • Build and maintain relationships with key stakeholders.
  • Support the development of a strategy for engagement with host communities and clients.
  • Coordinate program-related events.
  • Develop and disseminate lessons learned and knowledge materials.
  • Share expertise and contribute to knowledge products.
  • Participate in development fora and industry events.
Required Experience
  • Minimum five (5) years of relevant experience in sustainability, sustainable finance and resilient infrastructure development.
  • Solid understanding of the evolving ESG reporting landscape, and sustainability indicators, as well as monitoring and evaluation techniques.
  • A proven track record in designing, implementing, and managing complex operations using innovative approaches.
  • General understanding of IFC operations and investment and advisory services as well as knowledge of IFC ESG standards.
  • Sustainability expertise in private sector development in Africa or emerging markets.
Qualifications

A master’s degree in relevant discipline e.g., business, finance, business administration, social sciences, economics, sustainable development, and engineering, etc.
