Overview
Support the drafting of a report on enabling policies for inclusive, sustainable, and digitalized power grids and enhanced cross-border cooperation in the Arab region.
Key Responsibilities
- Compile and assess relevant literature, data, policy documents, and institutional materials related to regional electricity interconnections, power-sector digitalization, grid governance, interoperability, cybersecurity, and enabling regulatory frameworks in the Arab region.
- Examine capacity gaps in utilities, regulators, and institutions and identify targeted capacity‑building needs.
- Assess how digitalization of power grids can address rural–urban electricity disparities, energy access, and affordability across different socio‑economic groups.
- Integrate gender-responsive perspectives into the analysis.
- Identify relevant regional and international success stories and best practices that can be used to support the analysis.
- Prepare short and policy-oriented case-study boxes on selected Arab regional and international examples that illustrate inclusive digital grid governance, cyber‑resilient grid operations, renewable energy integration, and cross-border and regional electricity cooperation.
- Ensure that each section of the report is analytical, policy-relevant, clearly structured, and consistent with the agreed scope and style of the report.
Required Experience
A minimum of 10 years of work experience in electricity, connectivity and digitalization or related to the above-mentioned fields is required.
Qualifications
Master's degree or equivalent degree related to energy, digitalization, or a related field is required. Excellent analytical, research, writing, and communication skills are required. Computer literacy is required.
