Overview

Provides programme/project management and implementation assistance at all phases of the programme/project cycle. Researches, compiles, analyzes, summarizes, and presents information on programmes/projects and related topics.


Key Responsibilities
  • Independently provides full range of programme/project management and implementation assistance.
  • Researches, compiles, analyses, summarizes, and presents basic information/data.
  • Tracks resolutions and other legislative decisions that affect programme/project content.
  • Reviews, appraises and revises submissions for substantive programmes/projects.
  • Works with partners and funding agencies in arranging partnership and financing modalities.
  • Drafts budget and forecast based on submissions.
  • Provides expert assistance in the preparation and development of the unit’s work programme and budget.
  • Monitors budgetary commitments.
  • Prepares documents on programme/project-related activities.
  • Supports coordination, monitoring and expedition of implementation activities.
  • Arranges for formal closures of projects.
  • Drafts and circulates agenda notes to members/participants.
  • May undertake mission/field work in support of above activities.
  • Establishes internal databases.
  • Assists with the collection and analysis of data.
  • Assists with visualizations and updating information material.
  • Identifies and resolves diverse issues/problems as they arise.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.
Required Experience

A minimum of ten (10) years of experience in programme or project administration, technical cooperation across international contexts or related area is required. The minimum years of relevant experience is reduced to eight (8) years for candidates who possess a first-level university degree or higher. Experience working with an Enterprise Resources Planning system, such as Umoja or a similar system, is required. A minimum of three (3) years of experience working in the United Nations Common System or similar international organization is desirable. Experience in supporting organization of international capacity building and training programmes or workshops in an international context is desirable. Experience in providing administrative or programmatic support to an international organization operating in the least developed countries is desirable. 1 year or more of experience in data analytics or related areas is desirable.

Qualifications

High school diploma or equivalent is required. A certification in PRINCE2 Foundation and Practitioner is desirable. Relevant training in administration, human resources management or related area is desirable.
