Overview
Provides administrative support within the Department of Operational Support, focusing on human resources, budget, finance, and general administration.
Key Responsibilities
- Initiates, reviews, processes and follows up on human resource actions including recruitment, placement, promotion, relocation, performance appraisal, job classification reviews, and separation of staff.
- Responds to staff enquiries regarding entitlements, administrative procedures, conditions of service, and duties.
- Oversees maintenance of vacancy announcement files and monitors staffing tables.
- Assists in the preparation and review of financial and human resource proposals.
- Monitors expenditures and prepares adjustments.
- Drafts routine correspondence and coordinates with service units and internal team members.
- Performs other administrative duties such as operational travel, vendor payments, space planning, and equipment maintenance.
- May guide, train, and supervise junior staff.
- Assists with day-to-day administration of contracts, audits invoices, and processes payments to contractors.
- Prepares and processes UN forms and permissions for staff.
Required Experience
A minimum of seven years of experience in administrative services, finance, accounting, audit, human resources or related area is required. The minimum years of relevant experience is reduced to five years for candidates who possess a first-level university degree or higher. Experience working with a senior official in a front office setting of an international organization is required. Experience in drafting official correspondence and reports is required.
Qualifications
High school diploma or equivalent is required.
