Overview

The role involves designing and implementing a capacity-building and fundraising support program for civil society organizations, focusing on project proposal writing and access to funding.


Key Responsibilities
  • Develop programme design and workplan, including session structure, learning objectives, training methodology, and schedule.
  • Design and administer a Needs Assessment Questionnaire to CSOs.
  • Produce a Needs Assessment Summary Report documenting capacity gaps and recommendations.
  • Adapt programme content based on needs assessment findings.
  • Design and deliver structured training on project proposal writing and strategies for accessing funding.
  • Facilitate interactive group training sessions with CSOs.
  • Provide individual mentoring sessions to CSOs.
  • Develop and share practical tools, templates, and resource guides.
  • Design and facilitate a preparation workshop for CSOs for a Networking Event.
  • Provide individual coaching sessions to CSOs on presentation materials and key messages.
  • Develop a practical guide on effective CSO communication and storytelling.
  • Coordinate and consolidate inputs from the Fundraising and Donor Engagement Expert for joint deliverables.
  • Ensure joint deliverables are reviewed, quality-assured, and ready for submission.
Required Experience
  • Minimum 5 years of professional experience in capacity-building, training/facilitation or programme management in the civil society, development or humanitarian sector.
  • Demonstrated experience designing and delivering training on project proposal writing, grant management or access to funding for CSOs (minimum 2 projects).
  • Experience developing training curricula, toolkits or practical guidance materials for civil society organizations (minimum 2 assignments).
  • Experience working on gender equality, EVAW, women’s rights or inclusion of marginalized groups (Roma women, women with disabilities, WHRDs) is highly desired.
  • Experience working with a UN agency, international organization or bilateral donor in BiH or the Western Balkans is considered an asset.
Qualifications
  • Master’s degree or equivalent in development studies or a related field is required.
  • First-level university degree in project management, social sciences, law, gender studies or related field in combination with two additional years of qualifying experience may be accepted in lieu of the advanced university degree.
