Internship opportunity to contribute to analytical and technical assistance engagements on trade-related issues in low- and middle-income countries, focusing on global value chain reshaping and its implications for trade and jobs.


Key Responsibilities
  • Review academic and policy literature on GVC reshaping, trade policy, and labor market outcomes.
  • Collect and compile trade and GVC-related measures from multiple data sources.
  • Explore identifying specific value chains via detailed supplier linkages data.
  • Analyze and descriptively depict emerging trends based on compiled data.
  • Support the development of an econometric model for trade performance and GVC participation.
  • Contribute to the preparation of analytical outputs, including data visualizations, background notes, and report sections.
Required Experience

0–6 years of relevant professional experience. Experience using trade data, familiarity with trade policy databases and non-tariff measures (NTMs), tariff data, and other policy measures affecting trade. Experience using multi-regional input-output tables and derived trade-related measures OR experience using firm-level datasets. Expertise in applying trade models. Knowledge of trade and labor market models or measures is a plus. Experience applying Computable General Equilibrium models is a plus.

Qualifications

Currently enrolled in, or in the final year of, a postgraduate (master’s/PhD) program. Academic background must align with the requirements outlined in the job description.
