Overview
The WBG Pioneer - Labor Economist Intern will support the Social Policy team in Brussels in various areas related to knowledge-sharing, collaboration with European Institutions, event organization, analytical tasks, and project delivery.
Key Responsibilities
- Facilitate knowledge-sharing on innovative solutions to complex issues by curating learning materials, developing case studies, and organizing information.
- Support engagement with European Institutions, including the European Commission.
- Play a key role in organizing seminars, workshops, conferences, and other events.
- Be an active participant in People’s communities of practice and contribute to corporate priorities.
- Conduct literature reviews and synthesize research findings.
- Draft background papers, working papers, reports, and policy papers.
- Contribute to the publication and dissemination of research findings.
- Participate in business trips and meetings, collect and interpret project-related information and data.
- Contribute to cross-sectoral analytical activities and efforts to develop holistic World Bank solutions.
- Maintain regular interactions with task teams and collaborators to ensure smooth communication.
Required Experience
- 0–6 years of relevant professional experience.
- Experience working with European institutions, notably the European Commission (EC), would be an advantage.
Qualifications
Currently enrolled in, or in the final year of, a postgraduate (master’s/PhD) program.
