Overview

This internship offers undergraduate and postgraduate students a high-impact learning experience within the World Bank Group's Infrastructure department, focusing on private sector development in emerging markets.


Key Responsibilities
  • Review and analyze historical and projected financial statements.
  • Create and analyze financial models.
  • Conduct industry, integrity (KYC), and market research.
  • Review company information and prepare reports.
  • Elaborate indicative proposals for potential clients.
  • Participate and support in the structuring of new transactions.
  • Prepare investment committee materials.
  • Evaluate, structure, negotiate, and close new transactions.
  • Prepare documentation for IFC internal processes.
  • Participate and provide analytical support in negotiations.
  • Participate in the monitoring of investments.
  • Support portfolio investments.
  • Participate in due diligence processes.
Required Experience

1+ years of relevant experience, which could include project finance, private equity, investment and commercial banking, experience in infrastructure either as a lender, advisor, or investor.

Qualifications

Candidates must be currently enrolled in, or in the final year of, an undergraduate or postgraduate (master’s/PhD) program.

Ability to conduct business in English and in one of Portuguese or Spanish, both verbally and in writing.
Languages Preferred
Verbal and written communication skills in Spanish and Portuguese.
