Overview

The Research Assistant will support the Office of the Executive Director for Brazil, Colombia, Dominican Republic, Ecuador, Haiti, Panama, Philippines, Suriname and Trinidad and Tobago (EDS15) with research, policy analysis, and operational functions. The role involves producing constituency reports and providing research support to senior office members.


Key Responsibilities
  • Independently respond to external/internal inquiries by drafting and formatting correspondence in English and Spanish.
  • Provide comprehensive, high-quality research support on development policy, economic, and governance topics.
  • Assess incoming requests, conduct literature reviews, synthesize information, and produce written outputs such as briefing notes, analytical summaries, and constituency reports.
  • Support the preparation of background materials for meetings and Board engagements.
  • Maintain and update contact databases.
  • Screen, track, prioritize, and channel inquiries and requests.
  • Provide support during World Bank/IMF Spring and Annual Meetings.
  • Perform ad hoc duties, including back-up to the Senior Executive Assistant and Program Assistant.
Required Experience

Minimum of 4 years of relevant experience; or equivalent combination of education and experience.

Qualifications

Must have a bachelor’s degree; master’s degree preferred.

Knowledge of Portuguese is a plus.
