Overview

The Protection of Family Links (PFL) Field Officer contributes to the implementation and monitoring of ICRC PFL activities in Somalia, focusing on supporting Restoring Family Links (RFL) programmes and activities related to civilians, and potentially in places of detention. This role involves frequent travel across Somalia.


Key Responsibilities
  • Contributes to the identification of PFL needs and supports the implementation of the PFL strategy.
  • Carries out regular visits to SRCS RFL offices and provides on-site coaching.
  • Conducts regular PFL field assessments.
  • Conducts quality checks of tracing requests and follow-up activities.
  • Supports the implementation of management of the dead activities.
  • Liaises locally with different stakeholders and external contacts.
  • Develops and maintains a network of relevant contacts.
  • Participates in meetings relating to PFL and drafts minutes.
  • Prepares and analyses reports on PFL needs and activities.
Required Experience

4 years’ experience in a busy humanitarian environment focusing on protection or human rights activities, experience in data management is a plus. Experience in fostering a constructive working environment for team members. Ability to work independently and in a multicultural environment.

Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree in social sciences, political science or any other related field of study
