Overview

This role supports legal research, analysis, drafting, and capacity development in food and agriculture legislation for FAO members.


Key Responsibilities
  • Support the implementation of development law projects, including assisting national and international consultants, liaising with national counterparts, contributing to legal drafting, drafting legislation, legal opinions, and analyses, supporting the drafting and negotiation of international instruments, and conducting research on food and agriculture law.
  • Support legal capacity development by contributing to the design and implementation of training and outreach activities and materials, organizing trainings, meetings, webinars, and conferences, and supporting communication and outreach activities.
Required Experience
  • Minimum of 1 year of demonstrated relevant practical experience, including research experience.
  • Experience in legal drafting and implementing national projects would be an asset.
Qualifications

Advanced university degree from an institution recognized by the International Association of Universities (IAU)/UNESCO in Law or any other discipline relevant to the work of the Organization. A Bachelor University Degree in Law and a PhD in Law are considered an asset.
