Overview

The Advocacy and Communication Officer will support the development, implementation, monitoring, and evaluation of integrated advocacy and communication strategies to influence policy and practice for children's rights.


Key Responsibilities
  • Support the development, implementation, monitoring, and evaluation of integrated advocacy and communication strategies.
  • Raise awareness of children's rights, mobilize public support, and enhance UNICEF's visibility and credibility.
  • Lead and support high-impact advocacy campaigns, media engagement, strategic partnerships, and digital communications.
  • Strengthen political and financial commitments for children and deliver measurable results.
  • Manage online platforms and channels.
Required Experience

Min 2 years of relevant work experience in communication, advocacy, campaigning, and digital communications at a national, regional or global level is required. Demonstrated experience in supporting and/or managing projects to completion, including developing and implementing clear processes, and budget management is required. Experience in digital communications and in managing online platforms and channels is required. Experience in supporting the development of clear theories of change with specific, measurable and timebound objectives and performance indicators is essential. Experience in supporting the effective functioning of a team is required.

Qualifications

A completed First Level University Degree (Bachelor or equivalent) in Journalism, Political Science, Communications, International Relations and any other related fields is required.

Proficiency/Fluency both in English and French is required.
Languages Preferred
Fluency in Créole will be a strong asset. Knowledge of another official UN language (Arabic, Chinese, Russian or Spanish) is an advantage.
