Overview

Consultant to develop and integrate climate-sensitive disease reporting and analytics on a national HMIS platform, focusing on AI and capacity building for health professionals.


Key Responsibilities
  • Lead the design and development to leverage existing locally owned health information systems, incorporating climate-sensitive infectious diseases data and predictive modelling features.
  • Build on existing disease surveillance systems on the national HMIS platform by integrating climate and weather data.
  • Map disease risk and suitability using data on relevant climactic conditions and historical epidemiological data.
  • Develop predictive models and generate forecasts based on relationships between environmental factors and disease outbreaks.
  • Support and build capacities of national and regional managers to plan interventions and resource allocation.
  • Train and support managers at national and regional levels to respond to localized early warnings.
  • Build capacities of managers to generate evidence on the impact of climate change on disease burden.
Required Experience
  • At least 10 years experience in managing country Health Information Systems deployment and management on a DHIS2 platform.
  • Expert knowledge in DHIS2.
  • Experienced in developing successful training plans capacity building of senior and middle level managers.
  • Large scale DHIS2 customization and implementation at country level.
  • Skilled in designing, deploying, and managing national-level digital health solutions, leveraging a solid background in public health, computer science, and geo-information science.
  • Ability to translate technical requirements into business solutions with a successful record of building positive relationships with internal and external stakeholders.
Qualifications
  • Essential: Masters’ Degree or higher in health informatics, or public health, and undergraduate training in Health Information/Health Informatics .
  • Desirable: Post graduate in Geo Information Science
