Overview
The Accounting Associate will coordinate the receipt, allocation, and recording of funds, administer recoverable accounts, and manage invoicing and reconciliation of Accounts Receivable.
Key Responsibilities
- Process and record incoming funds, ensuring completeness and accuracy.
- Review and reconcile receipts with supporting documentation.
- Investigate and resolve unidentified receipts.
- Prepare and issue acknowledgements of receipt.
- Prepare and issue monthly billings for operating costs and services to Delegations.
- Record and monitor recoverable amounts in the General Ledger.
- Monitor outstanding balances and follow up on receivables.
- Issue statements of account and respond to Delegation queries.
- Escalate significant overdue balances to management.
- Maintain and update records of Group Medical Benefits Plan (MBP) members.
- Prepare and dispatch annual billing for MBP.
- Monitor outstanding MBP balances and follow up on unpaid accounts.
- Communicate unpaid MBP balances to HRB.
- Contribute to improvements in MBP billing processes.
- Prepare and issue invoices for ARGF activities.
- Record and recognize revenue in accordance with IPSAS standards.
- Maintain accurate AR records.
- Monitor receivables and follow up on outstanding balances.
- Issue customer statements and escalate delinquent accounts.
- Perform regular reconciliation of General Ledger receivable accounts.
- Provide guidance to internal stakeholders on invoicing and receivables processes.
- Validate and reconcile AR balances for inclusion in financial statements.
- Prepare supporting documentation and respond to audit queries.
- Ensure completion of year-end activities.
- Provide backup support across AR functions.
- Identify and propose improvements to AR processes.
- Monitor system updates and contribute to streamlining and automation of AR processes.
- Perform other related duties as assigned.
Required Experience
A minimum of six (6) years' experience in accounting. Experience with analyzing financial data and reports. Experience with applying and interpreting financial rules and regulations.
Qualifications
High school diploma or equivalent, is required. Diploma of College Studies, including the successful completion of courses in accounting and computer processing.
