Overview

The Communication and Ending Violence Against Women and Girls Advocacy Intern will support UN Women Morocco in advocating for gender equality and combating violence against women and girls through communication and advocacy activities.


Key Responsibilities
  • Support the organization and preparation of meetings and events.
  • Contribute to enhancing the visibility of UN Women’s events, campaigns and key activities.
  • Support the drafting of terms of references for communication service providers.
  • Follow up on the timely delivery and quality of communication-related deliverables.
  • Draft meeting minutes and contribute to the preparation of reports and presentations.
  • Translate communication and advocacy materials from French into Arabic and English.
  • Support the development of programme communication materials.
  • Adapt visuals and social media publications.
  • Document good practices, lessons learnt and human-centered stories.
  • Support the collection and consolidation of programme results for reporting purposes.
Required Experience

Internship period of 6 months.

Qualifications
  • University studies in Communications, Law, International Relations or Political Sciences, International development, Gender and Development, Social Development or another relevant subject is required. Meet one of the following:
  • Be enrolled in a graduate school programme (second university degree or equivalent, or higher);
  • Be enrolled in the final academic year of a first university degree programme (minimum Bachelor's level or equivalent);
  • Have graduated with a university degree and, if selected, must commence the internship within a two-year period of graduation; or
  • Be enrolled in a postgraduate professional traineeship program which is part of a degree programme and undertake the internship as part of the program requirements.

Remuneration
Interns who are not in receipt of financial support from other sources such as universities or other institutions will receive a stipend from UN Women to partially subsidize their basic living costs for the duration of the internship.
