Overview
This internship supports the United Nations Information Centre (UNIC) in Beirut by disseminating information about the UN's work and promoting public understanding of its aims and activities.
Key Responsibilities
- Assist in drafting media advisories, press releases, press reviews, talking points, statements, and news stories in English and Arabic.
- Contribute to content creation for UNIC Beirut's website and social media platforms.
- Provide media support to events and campaigns organized by UNIC Beirut.
- Assist in organizing press conferences, meetings, briefings, and other PR events.
- Take photos and videos for media coverage and archiving.
- Undertake other ad-hoc activities as instructed.
Required Experience
Applicants to the UN Internship Programme are not required to have professional work experience. A field of study that is closely related to the type of internship that you are applying for is required.
Qualifications
- Applicants must meet one of the following requirements: (a) Be enrolled in, or have completed, a graduate school programme (second university degree or equivalent, or higher); or (b) Be enrolled in, or have completed, the final academic year of a first university degree programme (minimum bachelor’s degree or equivalent).
- Applicants must have good knowledge of standard software applications, especially MS Word, MS PowerPoint, and MS Teams.
