Overview

This internship supports the United Nations Information Centre (UNIC) in Beirut by disseminating information about the UN's work and promoting public understanding of its aims and activities.


Key Responsibilities
  • Assist in drafting media advisories, press releases, press reviews, talking points, statements, and news stories in English and Arabic.
  • Contribute to content creation for UNIC Beirut's website and social media platforms.
  • Provide media support to events and campaigns organized by UNIC Beirut.
  • Assist in organizing press conferences, meetings, briefings, and other PR events.
  • Take photos and videos for media coverage and archiving.
  • Undertake other ad-hoc activities as instructed.
Required Experience

Applicants to the UN Internship Programme are not required to have professional work experience. A field of study that is closely related to the type of internship that you are applying for is required.

Qualifications
  • Applicants must meet one of the following requirements: (a) Be enrolled in, or have completed, a graduate school programme (second university degree or equivalent, or higher); or (b) Be enrolled in, or have completed, the final academic year of a first university degree programme (minimum bachelor’s degree or equivalent).
  • Applicants must have good knowledge of standard software applications, especially MS Word, MS PowerPoint, and MS Teams.

Languages Required
Fluency in written and spoken English and Arabic is required.
Languages Preferred
Knowledge of French is desirable.
Contract Duration
3 mos to 6 mos max
Work Modality
In Person - Full Time UNIC Beirut. Remote work modalities can be offered on a case-by-case basis.
Remuneration
Interns are not financially remunerated by the United Nations. Costs and arrangements for travel, visas, accommodation and living expenses are the responsibility of interns or their sponsoring institutions.
