Overview

This internship focuses on media market research and strategy within the Partnerships Unit, aiming to secure clients for UN media licensing and promote UN communication campaigns.


Key Responsibilities
  • Researching, identifying, and contacting media and other organizations to secure clients for UN media licensing and promotion of UN communication campaigns.
  • Researching and identifying opportunities for strategic partnerships to increase the reach of UN media and communication campaigns.
  • Identifying, proposing, and developing new digital marketing, promotion, and distribution tools and methods, and providing suggestions for packaging existing UN media content.
  • Integrating the use of artificial intelligence as a tool in media analysis, content syndication, and marketing workflows.
  • Using data analytics to gain insight into client usage of UN media content and producing recommendations for production, marketing, and promotion operations.
  • Researching and analyzing information from diverse sources on assigned topics/issues.
  • Drafting correspondence and promotional materials.
  • Assisting in the organization of special events, including the team’s presence in the Media Centre during the General Debate of the General Assembly.
  • Performing other tasks toward meeting the team’s priorities, as assigned.
Required Experience

Applicants to the UN Internship Programme are not required to have professional work experience. However, a field of study that is closely related to the type of internship that you are applying for is required.

Qualifications
  • Applicants must meet one of the following requirements: (a) be enrolled in, or have completed, a graduate school programme (second university degree or equivalent, or higher); (b) be enrolled in, or have completed, the final academic year of a first university degree programme (minimum bachelor’s degree or equivalent).
  • Applicants must also: Be computer literate in standard software applications.

Languages Required
Fluency in English is required.
Languages Preferred
Knowledge of another UN official language is desirable.

3-6 months duration

Remuneration
Interns are not financially remunerated by the United Nations. Costs and arrangements for travel, visas, accommodation and living expenses are the responsibility of interns or their sponsoring institutions.
