Overview
The Security Associate supports the implementation of UNICEF's security risk management framework to ensure the safety and security of personnel, assets, and operations. The role monitors the local security environment and provides timely security updates.
Key Responsibilities
- Support the supervisor in planning functions related to safety and security.
- Assist in collecting information for the UN Country Security Plan, MOSS, and RSM.
- Assist in developing UNICEF routine security documentation, including security contingency plans.
- Assist in drafting routine security reports.
- Monitor the local security situation and provide regular information and updates.
- Support security activities for UNICEF staff, premises, and operations.
- Provide technical support for contracted security providers.
- Share security information with UNICEF personnel and eligible family members.
- Support the establishment and testing of Communications/Warden Systems.
- Support security-related contingency exercises.
- Conduct physical security surveys of international personnel residences.
- Maintain liaison with host government counterparts and UN security counterparts.
- Coordinate with UNDSS to ensure mandatory security training is undertaken.
- Develop and conduct country-level familiarization sessions for contracted security guards.
- Develop and conduct country-level training sessions for drivers.
- Assist in providing security-related training for UNICEF personnel.
Required Experience
At least 6 years of relevant work experience in Security, Security Planning, Security Networking, Knowledge Management, Capacity Building and any other related fields.
Qualifications
Secondary Education in any related fields.
