Overview
The ICT Specialist - Technology Solutions Engineer role supports the TDDPS/TDU by delivering innovative technology solutions to enhance UN peace operations.
Key Responsibilities
- Manages relationships with technical experts and field missions’ programmes.
- Builds high quality product design documentation, guidelines and SOPs.
- Identifies and advises on Technologies Solutions.
- Contributes to the development of innovation frameworks, best practices and technology roadmaps.
- Liaises with the industry and vendors to assess and apply modern technologies.
- Follows technology developments and identifies trends.
- Travels to field and other operational locations as necessary.
- Develops and implements products as a service strategy.
- Designs and develops comprehensive training materials and user manuals.
- Delivers technical training programs, workshops, and Train-the-Trainer (ToT) initiatives.
- Evaluates training effectiveness and tracks capability gaps.
- Prepares procurement documentation and provides technical input.
- Advises UNGSC, field missions and other UN entities on technical aspects of technologies.
- Contributes to creating and nurturing a culture conducive to innovation.
- Identifies disruptive threats and opportunities.
- Applies strategy, cultivates and sponsors breakthrough innovation initiatives.
- Delivers business results from innovation and leads the measurement and analysis of innovation results.
- Performs other duties as may be reasonably required.
Required Experience
A minimum of two (2) years of experience in Intelligence Surveillance & Reconnaissance (ISR) systems; A minimum of one (1) year of experience in dealing with Unmanned Air Systems (UAS); A minimum of one (1) year of experience in dealing with Counter Unmanned Air Systems (C-UAS). Relevant experience is defined as experience in leading and managing complex ICT or engineering solutions or related areas.
Qualifications
Advanced university degree (Master’s degree or equivalent) preferably in information technology, computer science, engineering, electronics or related fields with 5 years of relevant experience OR Bachelor’s degree (or equivalent) preferably in information technology, computer science, engineering, electronics or in a field with 7 years of relevant experience.
