The Programme Specialist – Cash-Based Programming and Resilience will provide technical leadership and advisory support on Cash-Based Interventions (CBIs) and related modalities across UNDP Afghanistan portfolios. The role aims to strengthen integrated project management, strategic programme integration, digital programme delivery systems, and capacity development.
Minimum of 5 years (with Master’s degree) or 7 years (with Bachelor’s degree) of relevant professional work experience in managing Cash-Based Interventions (CBI) in international development organizations is required. Demonstrated experience in designing and monitoring CBIs indicators and achievements and reporting on CBI results is required. Experience in the usage of computers and office software packages (MS Word, Excel, etc.) and working knowledge of spreadsheet and database packages, as well as experience in the handling of web-based management systems is required. Desirable: Demonstrated experience in providing capacity-building to UNDP staff, responsible parties, contractors, and related partners on CBI design, implementation, compliance, and monitoring is desired. Demonstrated experience working in crisis/post-crisis settings is an asset. Experience from previous UN assignments and/or multilateral and bi-lateral aid organizations would be an asset. Proven knowledge of Results-Based Management methodologies would be an asset.
Advanced University degree (Master’s degree or equivalent) in development studies, economics, social sciences, or related field is required. Or A first-level university degree (Bachelor’s degree) in the areas stated above, in combination of an additional two years of qualifying experience may be accepted in lieu of an advanced degree.
