Overview
The Associate Programme Officer will facilitate the development, implementation, and evaluation of assigned programmes/projects, conduct research, and provide substantive support for policy coordination and evaluation functions.
Key Responsibilities
- Works with key clients to facilitate the development, implementation and evaluation of assigned programmes/projects.
- Monitors and analyzes specific aspects of programme/project development and implementation.
- Reviews relevant documents and reports; identifies problems and issues to be addressed and recommends corrective actions.
- Liaises with relevant parties; identifies and tracks follow-up actions.
- Carries out basic research on selected aspects of programmes, operations and other activities.
- Provides substantive support for policy coordination and evaluation functions.
- Assists in performing consulting assignments.
- Participates in survey initiatives; assists with design of data collection tools.
- Contributes to the preparation of various written outputs.
- Provides administrative and substantive support to consultative and other meetings, conferences, etc.
- Undertakes outreach activities; participates in the development of training workshops, seminars, etc.
- Participates in field missions.
- Coordinates activities related to budget funding.
- Contribute to the collection and analysis of data as well as identification of trends or patterns and provide draft insights through graphs, charts, tables and reports using data visualization methods.
Required Experience
A minimum of two years (four years with a first level degree) of progressively responsible experience in project/programme management, administration or related area is required. Experience in the UN common system is desirable. Experience in reporting is desirable. Experience in sector development in a manufacturing sector is desirable.
Qualifications
Advanced university degree (Master’s degree or equivalent) in business administration, management, economics or a related field. A first level degree in the above subjects with an additional two years of relevant professional experience may be accepted in lieu of the advanced degree.
