Overview
Consultant to strengthen policies on prevention of sexual exploitation and abuse (PSEA) and child safeguarding. The role aims to strengthen UNICEF's implementation of policies and strategies for preventing exploitation, abuse, violence, and rights violations against children and their families.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop a technical diagnosis of capacity in PSEA and Safeguarding, including risk analysis, reporting mechanisms, internal protocols, case management, and staff/volunteer capabilities. Include an institutional strengthening plan with prioritized recommendations, a roadmap for reports, reporting and survivor care mechanisms, and disciplinary measures.
- Develop a normative framework and adapted operational tools, ensuring coherence with humanitarian principles, rights-based approach, and cultural/community sensitivity. This includes an institutional instrument for child safeguarding and PSEA, a zero-tolerance clause in collaborator contracts, annual safeguarding and PSEA training, an internal reporting mechanism for protection incidents, and defined disciplinary measures for non-compliance.
- Develop and implement a training plan for trainers to develop a cascade training methodology on PSEA and Safeguarding policies, including values and ethics.
Required Experience
- Minimum of five (5) years of experience in technical consultancies or projects related to child care and protection, work with adolescents, and prevention of sexual exploitation and abuse.
- Minimum of five (5) years of experience implementing playful methodologies with a pedagogical approach and conducting processes with children, adolescents, and families.
Qualifications
- Licenciatura in Psychology, Social Work, Health Sciences, Social Communication, or related social science disciplines.
- Additional studies related to the subject will be considered a plus.
