Overview

The GBV Case Management Officer is responsible for providing case management and psychosocial support to survivors of gender-based violence, particularly women and girls.


Key Responsibilities
  • Provide case management services including assessment of needs, development of action plans, referrals, implementation, follow-up, and case closure for survivors of gender-based violence.
  • Provide age-appropriate counseling for vulnerable adolescent girls and boys.
  • Provide age-appropriate psychosocial support in safe spaces and child-friendly spaces.
  • Ensure timely filing and storage of GBV data in the GBVIMS+ Primero system.
  • Prepare and submit weekly and monthly work plans.
  • Support the implementation of monitoring and evaluation tools and report on program implementation issues.
  • Participate in regular supervisory meetings.
  • Develop and maintain effective working relationships with stakeholders.
  • Contribute to the maintenance of an up-to-date service mapping.
  • Receive referrals, conduct action plans, and provide appropriate responses.
  • Send referrals to different agencies.
  • Flag the need for and attend case conferences.
  • Update service mapping monthly and flag training needs of service providers.
  • Provide feedback on actions taken.
  • Work closely with DRC local partner and provide field-level support.
  • Work closely with the child protection section for cases involving child survivors.
  • Perform other duties as directed by the Protection Team Leader GBV PSS or Protection Manager.
Required Experience
  • Minimum 2 years of experience in counseling survivors of gender-based violence or vulnerable women and girls/and or in child protection case management.
  • Previous experience working with Syrian refugees in Lebanon and in international organizations and humanitarian settings is preferred.
Qualifications

Bachelor degree in Social work, Counseling, Psychology or other related field.

Languages Required
Good understanding of GBV core concepts and principles and ability to implement casework using a survivor-centered approach. Strong communication and counseling skills, including the ability to communicate with survivors effectively. Good knowledge of protection principles in humanitarian settings and of the context in Lebanon. Ability to maintain confidentiality, respect, non-discrimination and safety of beneficiaries at all times. Comfortable in a multi-cultural environment, flexible with working hours and able to handle pressure well. Strong ability to organize work, meet deadlines, maintain composure, prioritize work under pressure, coordinate multiple tasks and maintain attention to detail. Computer literacy (MS Word and Excel).
