Overview

The Area GBV/PSEAH Analyst supports the planning, implementation, monitoring, and coordination of Gender-Based Violence (GBV) and Prevention of Sexual Exploitation and Abuse and Sexual Harassment (PSEAH) interventions. The role provides technical, operational, and coordination support to ensure high-quality, survivor-centered GBV programming and effective PSEAH safeguarding.

Key Responsibilities

• Coordinate day-to-day implementation of UNFPA-supported GBV activities.
• Serve as the primary field-level focal point for GBV programming.
• Conduct regular field monitoring visits and provide technical support to implementing partners.
• Identify implementation bottlenecks and coordinate timely follow-up actions.
• Support the implementation of the Country Office PSEAH action plan at area level.
• Assist in SEA risk assessments and follow up on mitigation measures.
• Monitor partner compliance with safeguarding standards and support awareness-raising.
• Represent UNFPA in sub-national Protection and/or GBV coordination forums.
• Participate in inter-agency PSEA coordination mechanisms.
• Support dissemination and operationalization of inter-agency PSEA standards and referral pathways.
• Contribute to service mapping, referral pathway updates, and coordination of field-level responses.
• Support programme monitoring, data tracking, and preparation of periodic updates.
• Perform any other duties as may be assigned by the supervisor.

Required Experience

At least two years (with master’s degree) or four years (with bachelor’s degree) of professional experience in GBV programming, protection, gender, or humanitarian response are required. Demonstrated experience in GBV prevention and response programming, including survivor-centered approaches is desirable. Experience with PSEAH/safeguarding systems, risk mitigation, and partner compliance is highly desirable. Experience working with NGOs and community-based organizations in fragile or humanitarian settings is desirable. Knowledge of inter-agency GBV guidelines, protection principles, and humanitarian coordination mechanisms is desirable.

Qualifications

Advanced university degree in a field of study relevant to UNFPA’s mandate, such as sociology, anthropology, social sciences, women’s studies, public health, public administration, international relations, international development, law or other related fields; or A first-level university degree in combination with two additional years of qualifying experience may be accepted in lieu of the advanced university degree.
