Overview

The Provincial RH/ GBV Coordinator supports the planning, implementation, monitoring, and coordination of integrated programmes on Maternal and Reproductive Health, Adolescents and Youth, Gender-Based Violence, and humanitarian portfolios. The role advances subnational efforts through a nexus-approach, accountable programming, and impactful partnerships.

Key Responsibilities

• Oversee and coordinate day-to-day implementation of UNFPA-supported RH/ GBV activities.
• Serve as the primary field-level focal point for MRH, A&Y, humanitarian and GBV programming.
• Conduct regular field monitoring visits and provide technical support to implementing partners.
• Identify implementation bottlenecks and ensure timely follow-up actions.
• Conduct field assessments and/or situational analyses to determine needs and gaps.
• Collaborate closely with relevant UN agencies, NGOs, and local authorities.
• Coordinate and facilitate capacity building trainings on MRH, A&Y, humanitarian / GBV.
• Support the implementation of program activities, contribute to concept notes and proposals.
• Engage with donors to raise additional programme funds.
• Support the Country Office in preparing progress reports, sitreps and donor reports.
• Represent UNFPA in sub-national coordination forums and protection working groups.
• Participate in inter-agency PSEA coordination mechanisms.
• Support dissemination and operationalization of inter-agency PSEA standards and referral pathways.
• Contribute to service mapping, referral pathway updates, and coordination of field-level responses.
• Support programme monitoring, data tracking, and preparation of periodic updates.
• Perform any other duties as may be assigned by the supervisor.

Required Experience

At least two years (with master’s degree) or four years (with bachelor’s degree) of professional experience in RH/ GBV programming, protection, gender, or humanitarian response are required. Demonstrated experience in RH/ GBV prevention and response programming, including survivor-centered approaches is desirable. Experience with PSEAH/safeguarding systems, risk mitigation, and partner compliance is highly desirable. Experience working with NGOs and community-based organizations in fragile or humanitarian settings is desirable. Knowledge of inter-agency RH/ GBV guidelines, protection principles, and humanitarian coordination mechanisms is desirable.

Qualifications

Advanced university degree in a field of study relevant to UNFPA’s mandate, such as sociology, anthropology, social sciences, gender studies, public health, public administration, international relations, international development, law or other related fields; or A first-level university degree in combination with two additional years of qualifying experience may be accepted in lieu of the advanced university degree.
