Overview
The Translation Project Manager supports the execution of translation assignments, ensuring translation projects run smoothly and efficiently to meet client expectations.
Key Responsibilities
- Oversee the entire life-cycle of translation projects.
- Support the coordination of freelancers’ work and translation request planning.
- Assist in ensuring consistent communication between and with all stakeholders involved in the projects.
- Identify potential efficiency gains throughout the life-cycle of translation projects and recommend improvements.
- Continuously work to improve client relationship management skills.
- Manage and track client expectations.
- Maintain awareness of the different levels of priorities for documents per committee, topic, and document type.
- Maintain a broad understanding of topical NATO issues.
- Establish and maintain continuous contact with customers, in order to process demand effectively, meeting as fully as possible the needs and expectations of customers and other recipients of translations.
- Perform any other related duties as assigned.
Required Experience
- at least 3 years of relevant experience in translation project management/ translation demand processing;
- experience with Computer Aided Translation (CAT) and collaborative (e.g., Office365, SharePoint) tools;
- prior experience tasking/ assigning work to cross-functional teams, particularly in an international environment.
Qualifications
- have successfully completed university-level training in translation or hold a degree in a relevant discipline;
- possess the following minimum levels of NATO’s official languages (English/ French): VI (“Proficiency”) in one; V (“Advanced”) in the other.
- professional certification in project management (e.g., PRINCE2®)
