Overview

The Regional Project Management Analyst supports the Team Leader Climate Action in coordinating, monitoring, and reviewing climate change, disaster risk reduction, resilience, and energy projects. The role provides project management support including data analysis, reporting, stakeholder coordination, and operational assistance for effective programme implementation.


Key Responsibilities
  • Support Work Plan Development: Formulate, review, and finalize Annual Work Plans (AWPs).
  • Track Performance Indicators: Monitor daily progress against the project results framework and milestones.
  • System Maintenance: Update project scheduling and monitoring data in UNDP’s enterprise management systems.
  • Ensure Timely Implementation: Coordinate with national counterparts and Country Offices.
  • Monitor Expenditures: Review financial resources, commitments, and disbursements.
  • Process Budget Revisions: Prepare and finalize budgetary revisions.
  • Manage Payment Requests: Oversee requests for financial resources.
  • Track Cost Recovery & Receivables: Review Accounts Receivable and track cost-sharing funds.
  • Ensure Policy Compliance: Verify that all processes follow UNDP Programme and Operations Policies and Procedures (POPP).
  • Audit Preparation and Compliance Coordination: Consolidate, review, and organize project documentation for audits.
  • Safeguard Assets: Oversee the physical safeguarding of project assets.
  • Maintain the Risk Log: Monitor project risks and enter new risks into the project risk log.
  • Draft Progress Reports: Prepare quarterly operational reports, annual progress reports, and donor-required reports.
  • Facilitate Evaluations: Ensure mid-term reviews (MTR) and terminal evaluations (TE) are executed and submitted.
  • Capture Lessons Learned: Systematize, document, and share lessons learned and best practices.
  • Standardize M&E Protocols: Implement and maintain monitoring and evaluation procedures.
  • Facilitate Regional Communication: Maintain working contacts and ensure smooth information sharing.
  • Support Procurement: Draft Terms of Reference (ToRs) and assist in contracting processes.
  • Organize Regional Events: Coordinate logistics, travel, and administrative requirements for regional events.
  • Information Management: Set up and maintain a filing system for project documentation.
  • Facilitate knowledge and capacity building, knowledge sharing and advocacy.
  • Organize training, workshops, and capacity building activities.
  • Identify, synthesize and document best practices and lessons learned.
  • Participate in and ensure sound contributions to knowledge networks and communities of practice.
  • Support establishment of knowledge platforms for the project.
Required Experience

Minimum of 2 years (with Master’s degree) or 4 years (with Bachelor’s degree) of relevant experience at the national or international level in project management, programme/project support, results-based management (RBM), administration, finance, or other relevant operational fields. At least 1 year of relevant professional experience in project or programme management, preferably in climate change, disaster risk reduction, resilience, or sustainable energy sectors. Experience working with international organizations, preferably UNDP.

Qualifications

Advanced university degree (Master’s Degree or equivalent) in Business Administration, Public Administration, Project Management, Economics, Finance, Social Sciences, International Relations, or a closely related field; OR A first-level university degree (Bachelor’s degree) in the areas stated above, in combination with an additional two years of qualifying experience.
