Overview

The National Project Coordinator will ensure effective project management, provide advisory support on climate resilience and river basin management, build strategic partnerships, and align projects with UN values and UNDP priorities.


Key Responsibilities
  • Manage and coordinate project activities based on the Project Document.
  • Develop comprehensive/detailed Project work-plans.
  • Prepare Project progress reports for the donor and main project beneficiary.
  • Ensure timely submission of Project Implementation Reports, Technical reports, and financial reports.
  • Monitor Project progress against the timetable.
  • Secure goods, services, and personnel needed for ANA activities.
  • Monitor financial resources and ensure accuracy of financial reports.
  • Manage and monitor project risks.
  • Provide quality assurance for financial, procurement, and administrative processes.
  • Maintain coordination and quality assurance of expert inputs and products.
  • Identify opportunities for deepening cooperation and recommend approaches for dealing with stakeholders.
  • Maintain communication with counterparties, consultants, and experts.
  • Manage project tracking in QUANTUM.
  • Manage the transfer of project deliverables and assets to national beneficiaries.
  • Identify, collect, and analyze policy-related information and data.
  • Identify and synthesize best practices and lessons learned.
  • Support the development of policies.
  • Codify and share best practices and lessons learned.
  • Cultivate relationships with authorities, academia, NGOs, and other stakeholders.
  • Establish effective linkages with regional project teams and other relevant projects.
  • Disseminate project reports and respond to queries.
  • Ensure mainstreaming of gender equality, democratic governance, social inclusion, and disaster resilience.
  • Ensure gender equality is pursued in all project activities.
  • Ensure accessibility for persons with disabilities.
  • Consult with other UNDP projects on related activities.
  • Engage groups and communities in project activities.
  • Communicate project goals and activities clearly.
  • Support preparation of gender equality background materials.
  • Ensure data gathered is disaggregated by gender/disability/youth, age, ethnic affiliation.
  • Support reporting on gender mainstreaming.
  • Identify partnership strategies with providers of specialized expertise.
  • Ensure project/programme contributes to the promotion of gender/disability/youth equal access.
Required Experience

Applicants with a Bachelor’s degree (or equivalent) are required to have a minimum of two (2) years of relevant professional experience at the national or international level in the design, implementation, monitoring and/or evaluation of development projects.

Qualifications

Advanced university degree (Master´s degree or equivalent) in Development Studies, Social Policy, Social Sciences, Sustainable Development, Gender Studies, International Development/Relations, Public Policy, Political Law, Sustainable Studies or other related, or a similar field is required, or A first-level university degree (Bachelor´s Degree) in the areas stated above in combination with additional 2 years of qualifying experience.
