Overview

Provide technical, coordination, monitoring, reporting, analytical, and knowledge-management support to strengthen the coherent implementation of UNEP’s Chemicals and Pollution Action Subprogramme.


Key Responsibilities
  • Provide technical, coordination, monitoring, reporting, analytical and knowledge-management support.
  • Ensure alignment with UNEP’s MTS 2026–2029 and PoW 2026–2027.
  • Track updated portfolio and project pipeline.
  • Conduct portfolio reviews.
  • Ensure quality assurance of project concepts and documents.
  • Provide guidance on IPMR workflows.
  • Develop planning and monitoring tools.
  • Consolidate corporate and donor reporting inputs.
  • Prepare CPR and governance briefing materials.
  • Analyze programme interlinkages and strategic priorities.
  • Organize and document coordination meetings and pollution dialogues.
  • Follow up on action points.
  • Maintain a knowledge repository.
  • Prepare synthesis briefs on lessons learned, good practices, challenges and opportunities across the portfolio.
Required Experience

At least 2 years of progressively responsible experience in programme coordination, strategic planning, monitoring and reporting, or environmental programme implementation, preferably in chemicals, pollution, waste management, circular economy, environmental governance, GEF chemicals and waste programming, or related environmental policy/programme areas, is required. Prior experience with development projects, environment, and developing country contexts is an asset.

Qualifications

A master’s degree in environmental sciences, natural resources management, engineering, international development, or a related field is required. A first-level university degree with 2 years of qualifying experience may be accepted in lieu of the advanced degree.
