Overview
Seeking an experienced Finance Adviser to provide strategic financial leadership for NRC's global and regional grants portfolio, overseeing budgeting, reporting, compliance, and donor financial management.
Key Responsibilities
- Support and monitor compliance with Finance handbooks and NRC policies.
- Provide financial advice and technical support to budget holders and project teams.
- Manage financial aspects of assigned grants, including budget reviews, monitoring, spending plans, financial reporting, year-end closing, and audits.
- Ensure bookkeeping assurance for assigned grants.
- Contribute to the development of financial procedures and tools.
- Follow up on external and donor project audits.
- Disseminate best financial practices for global grants.
- Provide regular finance analysis and reports for global grants.
- Support Field Operations Head of Finance with departmental financial management tasks.
- Ensure compliance with NRC policies, guidance, and procedures.
- Oversee and control global projects country components budgets.
- Improve financial management of global grants from concept to audit.
- Provide financial guidance in project-related meetings.
- Conduct monthly internal control practices, including monitoring income, updating spending plans, ensuring transaction distribution, and verifying timesheets and supporting documents.
- Implement periodic and year-end closing practices for projects.
Required Experience
- Experience in financial management of large/complex multi-country global and regional projects.
- Experience with complex donors such as GFFO, FCDO, ECHO.
- Experience in financial management of consortium projects.
- Experience from working in a technical Finance position with projects implemented at country level, with exposure to financial monitoring tools and complex project funding.
- Experience from NRC, especially working at/coordinating with the country level, will be necessary.
Qualifications
University degree in finance, accounting and/or business management.
